Main migration paths
Working with the uniformed industry for many years now, we have been adapting innovations to the rigorous requirements of the military. One of the examples of such work is a project for a customer from this industry, during which we migrated an application used to manage an aircraft fleet. During 15 months of cooperation our specialists worked 1500 man-hours for the client.
What exactly did it look like?
We divided the project into two smaller sub-projects, prepared migration templates together with the client and defined three main areas:
- forms,
- application logic,
- database structure.
In parallel, we ran unit tests that enabled continuous monitoring of specific parts of the code. The user interface design was, for the most part, migrated automatically.
Software Modernization
We migrated the an that consisted of many modules developed in outdated Powerbuilder and Oracle 9 technologies to newer technologies such as .NET Framework 3.5 and Oracle 10.
Thanks to the software modernization, our client has achieved many benefits such as:
- lowered operating costs,
- Improved internal communication,
- Guaranteed reliability.
Fast and efficient data migration from the applications used previously in the company makes it possible to maintain continuity of work and achieve the main business objectives. The use of unit tests, on the other hand, makes it possible, already at the initial stage of application development, to rule out potential errors and thus to improve its further development.
