Software implementation and integration
For the airline industry, a large number of passengers also means a large amount of data to process. And this is the kind of data that changes dynamically. The ever-increasing number of reservations, changes made by passengers, and the multitude of time zones do not make it easy to manage them. This is why the airline industry is so eager to take advantage of the benefits offered by technology.
Our client – one of the oldest active airlines in the world, operating in the market for over 91 years – came to us because they needed to receive up-to-date information about flight reservations.
To successfully meet the customer’s needs, we implemented a 24/7/365 Windows Service solution, which we integrated with Amadeus Services and the customer’s internal Oracle database. Synchronizations take place regularly, and their frequency and activation time can be chosen and configured by the customer, according to their current needs. What is important, the system enables modification of query definitions, data sources and target results without the necessity of re-compilation.
Professional management of large amounts of data
A major challenge of this project was to properly parse data received from an external source and convert it into the format required by the client, taking different time zones into account.
By working hard, our experts created an automated and reliable system providing data about bookings, enabling easy configuration and parameterization of work. However, we provided the client with something much more than just software. We took care of their technological peace of mind, so they no longer need to worry about possible changes in the data structures provided by either Amadeus Services or the internal Oracle database. What is important, the implemented software is fully flexible, which will make it much easier to maintain and develop in the future.
The fact that travel and modern technology can no longer operate without each other is not debatable. However, many people forget that IT has a lot to offer not only to travelers, but also, or maybe even primarily, to providers of services in this area. It is digitalization that enables them to streamline all business processes and better respond to the needs of their customers. That is why they are increasingly eager to move in this direction.
