Introduction
To meet the rapidly growing e-commerce market and strengthen customer loyalty, one of Finland’s largest retail chains enlisted the help of Euvic. By building a dedicated development team and introducing a modern, scalable microservice architecture, the company was able to accelerate its digital transformation. The result was an improved customer experience, increased sales, and a more flexible, cost-effective delivery model that laid the foundation for long-term growth.
Challenge
A leading Finnish retailer set out to strengthen its position in a rapidly changing retail landscape. Developing and scaling their e-commerce platform was a key part of this transformation. Enabling the company to run a growing international sales network while delivering a seamless, multi-channel experience for customers across both digital and physical touchpoints.
The challenge was twofold: to expand their e-commerce capabilities and to deepen customer loyalty through an improved and more engaging loyalty experience. To meet these ambitious goals, the company needed to accelerate its development pace and bring in additional expertise to support its in-house IT and development teams.
Solution
Euvic provided a dedicated team of experienced software developers who became an integral part of the client’s organization. Over time, the collaboration grew to include around 19 full-time engineers working closely with the client’s internal teams.
The team consisted of full-stack developers specialized in Node.js and React, alongside A/B testers, UX/UI designers, and a business owner. Forming a cross functional unit capable of handling both development and optimization.
From a technical perspective, the solution was built on a distributed microservice architecture, with multiple integrations to core systems such as SAP APIs. Our engineers also took responsibility for DevOps processes, ensuring stable, scalable, and efficient delivery pipelines.
Result
During our collaboration, the client achieved record growth in online sales, supported by a vastly improved digital experience. While the global shift in consumer behavior during the Covid period played a role, the scalable and robust e-commerce foundation we helped build enabled the company to capture this growth efficiently.
By transitioning from an onshore to a nearshore model, the client successfully increased output while lowering operational costs (OPEX). Gaining flexibility without compromising on quality or speed.
