Introduction

One of Europe’s leading parcel delivery companies needed to modernize its logistics operations. The existing systems had reached their limits. They lacked the scalability, flexibility, and real-time overview needed to handle the rapidly increasing parcel volumes. To meet future demands and create a platform that could handle tens of millions of shipments per day, the company began working closely with Euvic. Together, they developed a modern, microservice-based architecture that digitizes the entire logistics flow. From sorting and tracking to customer invoicing and complaint handling. The result is a scalable, reliable, and data-driven solution that enhances both efficiency and customer experience in one of Europe’s most dynamic supply chains.

Challenge

A leading European parcel delivery company faced growing pressure to modernize its logistics operations. With parcel volumes increasing year over year, the company needed a system that could handle tens of millions of parcels per day while maintaining high reliability and integration across multiple business areas. Including parcel lockers, customer billing, courier settlement, and parcel tracking.

However, the existing tools were reaching their limits. They lacked scalability, flexibility, and real-time visibility, creating bottlenecks in both operations and decision-making. The client needed a unified, future-ready system capable of managing the entire logistics lifecycle. From dispatch to delivery and complaint handling, all within a single modern platform.

Solution

Euvic was selected to design and implement a comprehensive logistics process management platform tailored for large-scale, data-driven parcel operations.

The solution was built on a microservices-based architecture, leveraging technologies such as Java, Spring, Angular, and Kafka.

To deliver at scale, Euvic organized the project around five agile teams operating in a Scrum of Scrums setup, comprising up to 54 IT specialists.  Including developers, testers, UX/UI designers, and system architects.

Key solution highlights:

  • Development of web and mobile applications supporting couriers, warehouse staff, and operations teams.
  • Seamless integration with existing client systems for parcel lockers, billing, customer accounts, and transport management.
  • Automation of sorting and volumetric measurement processes, reducing parcel handling time by up to 40%.
  • Phased implementation, starting with an MVP deployed in selected branches, followed by a nationwide rollout and continuous expansion with new features and process optimizations.

Through close collaboration and agile delivery, Euvic ensured that the solution evolved alongside the client’s operational needs.  Enabling innovation without disrupting ongoing logistics operations.

Result

The new system delivered a scalable and modular logistics platform capable of managing all operational processes across the client’s national network.

Key outcomes include:

  • Full digitalization of parcel flow: from planning and dispatch to delivery and post-delivery handling, reducing manual work and improving data accuracy.
  • Real-time process visibility, allowing operational teams to react quickly and make data-informed decisions.
  • Simplified complaint handling and better management of damaged parcels.
  • Improved coordination between branches, resulting in faster and more reliable deliveries.
  • Significant gains in operational efficiency, helping the client sustain growth and maintain service quality in a rapidly evolving market.

Summary

Together, we successfully modernized and coordinated the customer’s logistics operations and delivered a future-proof, scalable software platform that can handle millions of packages every day.
