Challenge

Kesko, one of the leading retail and building trade groups in Northern Europe, sought a manageable and scalable nearshore setup to strengthen its e-commerce capabilities within the Building and Technical Trade business division.

The goal was to secure access to high-quality technical talent across multiple disciplines, while maintaining flexibility to scale teams according to business needs.

Kesko required a partner who could:

  • Deliver skilled developers across frontend and backend and
  • Ensure consistent delivery quality and team stability and
  • Complement Kesko’s internal development capabilities.

Solution

In 2019, Kesko initiated a nearshore development collaboration with Euvic following an evaluation of alternative delivery models and suppliers.

The cooperation was started with a single nearshore partner to enable a structured setup and practical collaboration. Euvic supported the collaboration with a centralized nearshore team and development resources relevant to Kesko’s technology stack.

The teams delivered solutions spanning:

  • Frontend and backend development for Kesko’s BTT e-commerce platform.
  • Business analysis, testing roles embedded and an A/B-tester

Result

  • Scalable nearshore delivery: Successfully scaled delivery capacity from 6 to 20+ team members during the cooperation, ensuring quality and continuity.
  • High recruitment quality: Consistently delivered engineers and specialists across multiple technology domains.
  • Operational stability: Teams have contributed to Kesko’s BTT ongoing digital development and e-commerce innovation efforts.

Conclusion

Through this long-term partnership, Kesko and Euvic have formed part of Kesko’s nearshore development setup built on professionalism, flexibility, and mutual trust.

Euvic continues to support Kesko’s digital transformation journey by providing the right talent at the right time.
