For years, organizations have tried to accelerate product development through agile methodologies, automation, and increasingly advanced tools that support IT teams. Vibe coding adds one more element to that mix: it makes itpossible to move much faster from an idea to a working prototype.
Its greatest value, however, does not necessarily lie in writing code itself. For business leaders, what happens earlier may be more important: faster validation of ideas, earlier detection of flawed assumptions, and better decisions aboutwhich initiatives are truly worth investing in.
That is the perspective from which vibe coding is worth looking at.
Not as a signal that programming is coming to an end, but as a tool that can shorten the path between a business hypothesis and the decision to begin proper development.
Vibe Coding: What Is It, and Why Is Business Interested?
Two extreme narratives have emerged around vibe coding.
The first frames it as a complete change in the rules of the game. In this version, it is enough to describe an application in natural language, and artificial intelligence takes care of the rest. Coding is no longer necessary, and software creation becomes accessible to everyone.
The second treats vibe coding as an interesting novelty that is not suitable for serious business use because of security, code quality, or scalability concerns.
Neither perspective captures the full picture.
The term vibe coding was popularized by Andrej Karpathy. In practice, it refers to a way of working in which a person describes the expected solution in natural language, while an AI tool generates the code and subsequent versions of the application. The key shift is in how people interact with code: the user can focus on the outcome of the solution rather than manually creating each part of it.

That is precisely why vibe coding is especially interesting at the prototyping and discovery stage.
It is not only about writing code faster. It is about seeing more quickly how a given solution might work and confronting it with users’ real needs.
