Title Design

In an era of belt-tightening across the tech sector and increasing competition for customer retention, companies face a dilemma: where to find real savings without losing innovation momentum? The answer—oftenoverlooked—lies in the maturity of design processes.

As Michał Popiel, Head of UX/UI at Euvic and former team leader at JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs, points out:

“Well-executed accessibility or a design system is not a whim. It’s a cost-saving element. In advanced systems, projects that could take 15 years can be completed in a year thanks to a structured approach.”

Here are three pillars of modern Product Design that will determine the profitability of digital products:

1. Accessibility as market expansion, not an obligation

By 2026, legal regulations (such as the European Accessibility Act – EAA) are already standard, but business leaders should look beyond compliance. Ignoring accessibility means consciously giving up a significantportion of the market.

The numbers don’t lie: Nearly 25–30% of users experience temporary or permanent limitations (motor, cognitive, visual).
Scale effect: Michał Popiel cites an example from the travel industry, where investment in accessibility paid off within a year:

“Suddenly, all people with visual or cognitive impairments started buying vacations only from that one website. The company’s revenue increased dramatically.”

Michał Popiel, Head of UX/UI, Euvic

Conclusion: Accessibility is the simplest way to increase your Total Addressable Market (TAM) without drastically increasing marketing spend.
