We Select was a thriving Stockholm recruitment firm with 30 dedicated employees, built on a decade of personal relationships and face-to-face interactions. We Select had carved out their niche in the competitive Nordic recruitment market through tried-and-true methods: handshake deals, office visits, and the kind of personal connections that made careers happen.

By 2019, they recognized the digital revolution coming to their industry. Their legacy "Talent Software" platform needed modernization to compete with emerging HR tech companies. What seemed like a straightforward technology upgrade would soon become the foundation for their survival when the unthinkable happened.

Challenge

COVID-19 lockdowns eliminated We Select's entire business model within weeks. Face-to-face meetings became impossible. Office visits with clients ended. The personal relationships that formed their competitive advantage became irrelevant when remote work dominated the market.

The financial impact was severe:

  • Workforce reduction from 30 to 10 employees (67% staff reduction)

Solution

Euvic approached We Select's situation as both a technical project and a business rescue operation. We became the architects of their survival through intelligently automated platforms that would support their complete business model change.

Our Lead Project Manager, Marcin Misiewicz, worked directly with We Select's team through regular visits to Stockholm for intensive collaborative workshops. These sessions brought together We Select's marketing, sales, and HR departments to create unified direction for their new business model.

We designed a dual-platform system that became We Select's new business foundation:

Candidate Mobile Application: A configurable platform allowing job seekers to apply, track applications, and receive personalized communications. Each of We Select's clients could customize branding elements to create unique candidate experiences reflecting their employer brand.

Recruiter Web Application: A comprehensive dashboard that automates candidate assignments, integrates with LinkedIn and Facebook for social media job advertising, and provides Applicant Tracking System (ATS) capabilities for managing talent pipelines.

Key technical capabilities included:

  • Social Media Integration - Direct connections to major platforms for centralized advertisement management
  • Security and Compliance - Complete GDPR compliance architecture protecting sensitive personal data
  • Automated Workflows - Data-driven recruitment marketing replacing manual posting processes
  • Multi-tenant Architecture - Configurable branding and functionality for each client

We implemented Scrum methodology to replace their waterfall approach, establishing iterative development cycles for rapid feature deployment and continuous feedback. Our workshops involved every department, creating alignment between marketing objectives, sales goals, and technical capabilities.

This collaboration helped We Select transition from a services mindset to a product mindset, incorporating roadmaps, user stories, and data-driven decision making into their operations.

The platform operates on Microsoft Azure with .NET C# backend and React.js frontend. We utilized cloud-native services, including Azure Key Vault for security management and Function Apps for automated scaling. Our DevOps engineers created infrastructure capable of scaling from crisis operations to enterprise-level demands.
