Electronic sick leaves
The modern approach to public administration has translated into changes in management procedures. As a result, in December 2018 Poland made it mandatory to issue sick leaves electronically. Following these procedural changes, one of our clients needed to automate the way in which such documents are issued.
The main goal of the cooperation was to simplify and speed up the circulation of sick leaves. We have achieved it by adding to the existing platform a module for doctors and mechanisms enabling generation of certificates and authorization of issued documents. At the same time, we aligned the platform with the eIDAS regulation requirements and fully integrated it with other systems used by the client.
In this project, we focused on services related to the creation, maintenance and development of the eZLA.pl system, which included an Android mobile application, the eZLA.web application, the eZLA.pl Internet portal and an online store with products and services for physicians and medical facilities.
Quick access to information
The solutions we created enable electronic display and processing of L4 sick leaves for medical institutions and private doctors’ offices. The information is sent directly to the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) and the employer.
We used such solutions as:
- analysis of issues related to the processing of sick leaves and the possibility of implementing the solution in medical facilities,
- design and programming work,
- integration of the solution with external systems, updates and optimizations of the system environments where the solutions are implemented, technical and user documentation.
They helped reduce patient service costs and speed up access to information. The system was implemented for more than 10 territorially dispersed medical facilities. As part of the cooperation, we also conducted trainings on the use and administration of the system for all employees. All system maintenance services were provided in the SLA model.
The healthcare industry is currently developing at an incredible pace. Every day, new med-tech start-ups appear all over the world, offering groundbreaking solutions based on the latest technologies. The vast possibilities offered by artificial intelligence and virtual reality are also reflected in the medical field. So, as we can see, medicine is an area where modern technology plays a key role for both patients hoping for a better future and healthcare systems saving money.
