Client: Yorbl (UK)
Yorbl Technologies is engaged in the development of innovative technology-based care and “SMART Living” solutions that improve outcomes, independence, and good health in “senior living,” providing cost-effective technology services, and supporting digital integration to improve the quality of life for seniors. TheGoodPeople team was responsible for developing an application that would serve to aggregate the data collected by the devices that Yorbl, the local authorities and the care providers are putting into homes. The solution was designed to make it easier for carers to read data, and assist them in spotting trends and early signs that their health may be deteriorating.
Project goal
The goal of the project was developing an application that would aggregate data collected by devices that Yorbl makes available to its clients. An important need of the client was to provide caregivers, family members, doctors and other professionals with data about people in need of care. The data was presented through clear charts. Yorbl required aggregation of statistics about its clients based on data collected by sensors such as temperature, humidity, pressure, motion, location, smoke, and alarms. The statistics also involved data collected directly from the customer, who indicated on an Android device how they were feeling (good, average, bad), as well as their need for help. Customer statistics are sensitive data, so it was necessary to support multiple roles providing varying levels of access. The customer required a place to manage the list of devices, the ability to assign them to specific users and import their list directly into the application. They also required a place to manage the list of users (customers, employees – doctors, other people with access to user data, such as family members) and the ability to operate the application on both desktop computers and mobiles devices. Yorbl already had several devices (Yorbl Vita and Vita+) with a range of wearables (Amica) and a rapidly expanding set of Sensors, and at the time of integration there was a service collecting data from these devices, which we could import into the application. The client was very open to all kinds of suggestions, proposals for solutions and new functionality, and was very responsive. Cooperation with Yorbl was a pure pleasure. An important aspect was to develop an easy to use interface that could also address and work seamlessly for Yorbl’s consumer market, where it would be accessed by a concerned friend or relative, rather than a healthcare professional.
Solution delivered
The Euvic team met the challenge of creating an application that responded to the client’s needs – an analytical panel for caregivers, family members, doctors, and other professionals. The application consisted of importing data from devices, and graphical presentation of this data through charts, which the user could fully customize (changing date ranges, selecting specific device parameters, etc.). Access to the application was granted based on detailed roles defined by the administrator. The application also included the bulk import of devices and users, as well as views where they could be managed in detail (change personal data, assign, and change roles, and assign a guardian to a person).

Benefits of the solution:
· Very clear and intuitive application interface,
· Charts containing a large amount of useful data (data and date range fully user-definable),
· Family members, and caregivers who have access to a particular user’s data after logging in see a screen containing a summary of the user’s well-being (dashboard)
“I have been delighted with the work we have done with Euvic, they understand our vision and are truly invested in what we are trying to achieve. The team have been a core part of the process and bring their own thoughts and insights into our ideation sessions. We have so much planned for the future, and I see Euvic being heavily involved in this, as the data side is such an incredibly important part of our solution. We are already planning and looking forward to the next tranche of development work!” – Grant Tiller, Chief Technology Officer at Yorbl
