Magento has been ranked among the leaders on the e-commerce solutions market for years. As one of the most flexible and reliable sales platforms, it is mainly associated with B2C companies. One of our clients, a company that offers virtual and physical gift cards and vouchers for private and business customers, asked us to upgrade their Magento from an older version (1.9) to the latest version – 2.2.*
We began our work by replacing all non-standard legacy components with new ones. We performed a full data migration and by keeping maintenance compliance, we reduced downtime for service availability to a minimum during its launch.
Then we performed such tasks as:
configuration and customization of multi-store functionalities for selling products to B2C and B2B customers
integration of Magento with external payment and shipping services, also with an external system for managing cards and vouchers,
automation of the entire purchase process for the customer using custom APIs,
implementation of a modern, responsive layout.

The new version of Magento has made it possible to fully automate gift card management by allowing customers to purchase cards and use them in other online or brick and mortar stores. The user-friendly, modern interface has positively influenced the ease of shopping and ensured transparency of the ordering process. Additionally, the system allowed for better integration with partners across the country and reduced the number of mistakes and expenses related to incorrect order fulfillment.
